Leanne Warren & Associates, a highly respected boutique criminal law firm located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, is inviting expressions of interest from dedicated Criminal Lawyers with a minimum of 2 years’ advocacy experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing strategic legal advice and high-quality representation to clients facing criminal charges.
• Preparing and drafting legal documents and persuasive submissions.
• Negotiating with prosecutors and opposing counsel to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Appearing daily in the Magistrates’ and County Courts, with travel to suburban and regional courts as required.
• Managing your own files independently while also appearing for colleagues when needed.
• Staying up-to-date with developments in criminal law and applying best practice in all matters.
• Collaborating with the wider legal team to share knowledge and strengthen case outcomes.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 2 years’ post-admission experience as a Criminal Lawyer.
• Proven advocacy skills and a strong track record of client-focused results.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
• Clear and persuasive oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Current Victorian Practising Certificate.
• Admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner with unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Current driver’s licence to attend court across metropolitan and regional areas.
